I am the Senior UX Designer who enjoys collaborating on projects to efficiently meet the business goals. Whether it’s remotely or in-person I believe as a team we can achieve more together. I am based in North Carolina and yes, I am open to remote/hybrid opportunities.
I have 6+ professional years of design experience. I’ve consulted 1-on-1 with 6+ small businesses nationwide to understand their business needs, strategized solutions then presented my design ideas.
Working for BB&T now Truist I communicated and empathized with 40+ clients daily and documented our key takeaways from our calls. I’ve learned that listening and organization soft skills are important for UI/UX roles. With 4 years in the banking industry I became very comfortable in the financial institution. In this position I learned the internal processors should improve the UI. I became passionate about improving the everyday tools we all use I’ve documented 20+ complaints from clients regarding their non-friendly banking resources. I believe that my past skills are aligned with my future position in FinTech.
As a UI/UX Design Intern at OffrBox, I assisted with 5+ top client accounts by designing web layout concepts. Completed industry competitive analysis and user research to discover methods of improvement. I quickly became the Lead Design Intern for our group by UI prototyping and implementation with the development team effectively as deadlines were near.
As a Marketing Concierge at Allen Tate Company, I successfully juggled multiple projects at once, assisting multiple agents with their business needs. I’ve held monthly marketing workshops for 40+ agents. Strategized and consulted with teams on how to meet their marketing goals monthly and annually.
Fast-forwarded to a Senior UX designer at Phoenix Direct, a D2C + B2B marketing agency for luxury men's apparel retail e-commerce sites. On a lean agile remote team, we were a small team with strong talent. My independent contribution improved customer experiences to 10+ eCommerce sites. Designed prototypes in Figma for client approval, and updated clients' homepage content in Shopify that generated $2M+ in monthly revenue. Independently product managed our incoming workload with the MVP approach. I sought efficiency with every project. I managed a calendar and Asana board to organize the incoming updates. I received client approval directly from clients and VP. I worked closely with the Creative Director, Product Manager, and Developer to ensure client satisfaction.
On YouTube I showcase my thought process for a UX Design Challenge during the hiring process. My most recent enterprise role, as a Experience Designer at TIAA, a financial retirement service. In this role, I collaborated with cross-functional teams to contribute within the B2B institutional digital design team. As a individual contributor I focused on designing user-centric interfaces to enhance the experience for the customers in retirement, ensuring intuitive navigation and functionality within the product formally called SmartPlan. Within the research lab, our team conducted several user interviews. Within the corporate lab our team conducted several sketching sessions with the Product Managers and UX Researchers. Within my first team, I collaborated with the Content Strategist to remove all the current corporate jargon in place of user-friendly content. As an individual contributor I created testable prototypes of the product, and conducted multiple rapid user testing using usertesting.com for validation.
I believe that every designer should be self-taught regardless of their education. There's always new software and design systems, new techniques, and new features to learn. My education is always evolving and never-ending.
